Sheet masks are a stable part of my beauty routine. I use them often after a clay mask in my weekly routine. But here and there my skin demands the nutrients of a sheet mask and I do one out of sequence. There are people who claim to use face masks every day but for me that would be too much. I would say up to three times a week is a good frequency.
The best thing about a sheet mask is that it doesn’t take much time to utilize. You can simply apply the mask when you are cooking or watching some Youtube or doing other things at home.
Our Product Recommendation
This is by far my favourite sheet mask. At first I was a bit disgusted because I don’t want to apply the slime of snails onto my face. But believe me, this face mask is damn great! The moisturizing is really intense. After the treatment your skin will be glowing and smooth. Actually, I found out that snail slime is used for much more beauty products than I thought.
Inside the sheet masks are recesses for your nose and for your eyes. You should apply the mask gently on your face. After 30 minutes when removing the mask the surface of your skin seems a little “slimy”. Just rub that in and you are finished.
Does the product smell?
No the product is absolutely fragrance-free.
Are there any snails harmed or killed for these masks?
One of the first things I thought about was this question. I would absolutely pass on this product if snails are killed or harmed for creating the masks. I did a bit of research and the common answer was, that the snails have to be relaxed to excrete the viscous slime. To be honest, sometimes I have a mixed feeling about this point. In the end you have to decide for yourself.
If you want a solid, more standard sheet mask this is your choice. You have different package sizes of 12,24,32 with the different types. I often choose the 24 and it lasts for 12 weeks.
The advantage of this product is that you get many different masks with various minerals and vitamins. Your skin won’t “customize” to the ingredients of one sheet mask and you have a nice variety in your routine. Sheet masks are pretty cheap compared to a spa treatment so you should definitely give it a try.
By the way, there is also one snail mask among the Dermal sheet masks so you might want to try this one before go “all-in” on the Skederm snail masks.
What Is a Sheet Mask?
A sheet mask is a piece of cotton or paper soaked in a serum with different nutrients. There various types of sheet masks like “rose” or “red ginseng” which all offer different benefits for your skin. Sheet masks are really easy to use. You simply have to apply the mask on your clean face. Leave it there for a certain amount of time (e.g. 20 minutes). You will recognize that your skin will absorb the nutrients of the sheet. After removing the mask you can dispose it. You shouldn’t clean your face after the treatment.
How Can I Benefit from a Sheet Mask?
Inside the serum are plenty of great ingredients like vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid. Now the special thing about the sheet mask is that the sheet prevent fluids to evaporate too quickly so they stay longer. The longer the ingredients last on your face the deeper they will get into your skin.
The sheet mask will moisturize and brighten your skin on a very gentle way. Often, after you do your clay mask your skin seems to be a little dry or irritated and thats when you should actually use a sheet mask.
I use sheet masks for nearly 10 years now and I never noticed huge differences between the various products. You simply have to find a mask that suits you well. The most important factor is to take care of all the ingredients and to avoid masks with chemical additives.
